To this day, the production and administration of Hosta is based in its birthplace in Baden-Württemberg, more precisely in Stimpfach-Randenweiler. From this traditional 1000-year-old town, we operate worldwide – now also remotely and with an additional location in Cologne.

This is our home –

Innovative ingredients

Jelly bananas with vegan agar-agar instead of animal gelatine, glazed instead of candied fondant, unique coconut flavour thanks to roasted rasps – and much more: Hosta has always been characterised by innovative ingredients and new production methods.

Crispy icons

Hosta is the company behind the favourite sweets of many Germans: nippon, Mr. Tom, ROMY and other unique brands still impress today with the same crunch and taste – and have always remained young and crunchy. One bite is enough to take you back in time to your own childhood and youth!

Creative campaigns

Hosta has always liked to take an unconventional approach to marketing and sales: from guerrilla sampling campaigns and competitions for unusual festivals and holidays to iconic commercials. The way in which the Hosta brands are presented is as creative and unique as they are.

Still full of ideas

Hosta has retained this joy of innovation and creativity to this day. With a strong focus on product development and always on the lookout for high-quality raw materials, the basis for healthy growth is in place – the Purchasing and Research & Development departments in particular are constantly expanding and developing.

Leader in the puffed rice chocolate segment

Hosta brands impress with their flavour, character and genuine icon status among confectionery. Take the delicious classic nippon, for example: with a market share of over 60 per cent in the puffed rice chocolate segment, the crispy pieces are the undisputed leaders according to the Nielsen Retail Panel 2024. Each brand has its own identity – and yet they all share the same unmistakable Hosta DNA.

From the motorbike…
… to the supermarket shelf.

A success story that tastes good: Hosta started out as a one-man business on a motorbike. This was founder Hermann Opferkuch’s unusual but very successful distribution channel at the time. He initially travelled the roads alone with his first orange drops – and quickly became the talk of the town.

When you think of Hosta, the first place that comes to mind is Stimpfach-Randenweiler in Germany. And that’s a good thing, because we are deeply rooted here and proud of these roots. But Hosta is much more than that: a Europe-wide group of companies with well over 1000 employees at a total of five locations and a total turnover in the three-digit million range.
